Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

My client and his wife have been struggling for a while. They have two daughters with special needs and he is unable to work because of health issues. They have been working with Christians Against Poverty (CAP) and are getting a Debt Relief Order to give them a fresh start. My client is intending to do the CAP Money course to get some help with their budgeting. They currently need oil and it would really bless them to have some help with paying for this. Thank you.

Total needed £200S, who has had a difficult past, including being homeless, has severe mental health issues that make life difficult for him. He has now been housed and is trying really hard to get his life on track. He is receiving help from Citizens Advice Bureau with his substantial debts, who are doing all they can to help him. Due to his low benefit income and the rise in the cost of living, S is struggling to buy food and relying on foodbanks. Please would you consider helping with some funds towards food? Thank you so much.

Total needed £100I is a middle aged lone male who has a history of problems with debt. He has been through several debt resolutions over the years, but has again found himself indebted. The Citizens Advice Bureau are assisting him to avoid court proceedings and are hoping this will be lead to a fresh start for him. Whilst I is receiving help, please would you consider supporting this him so that he can buy food and essentials? Hopefully this will be a positive turning point in his life. Thank you so much!

Total needed £100S is a single mum who is suffering from depression and other health issues, due to having had to endure twelve years of antisocial behaviour from her next-door neighbour. The neighbour was moved recently and S has taken this opportunity to make a new start. This included asking Christians Against Poverty for help with her debts. S would really appreciate your help with buying a new microwave, as hers stopped working a few weeks ago and, with a teenage boy in the house, it is really missed. Any remaining money is for food vouchers.

Total needed £150This lady has completed six month of inpatient rehabilitation and has been extremely successful. As she transitions back to living within the community, we are seeking support for her with gas and electric as her Universal Credit claim is reassessed. This lady is currently unable to work and has no support network as the people she was surrounding herself with were only fuelling her addiction.

Total needed £80This young lady came to the St Vincent de Paul (SVP) centre in a precarious situation. She had to leave her husband, due to violence directed towards her and her children. The SVP team is actively supporting her and the children, making referrals to appropriate personnel. Additionally, mum has mobility issues and is currently confined to her home. We urgently request food support and a phone to allow her to make calls and for applications for support.

Total needed £200This fifty four year old client of the Sue Lambert Trust is on Universal Credit, but his income is low, due to the under occupancy charge, and he doesn't feel mentally strong enough to consider moving to alleviate this. Our client has just enough coming in to pay rent and bills, but no money left over to buy food and so eats very little. He is hoping to use some of his pension in July to start up a business to alleviate money worries, but will have a very low income until then. Some help to buy food would be appreciated.

Total needed £120Our elderly client lives alone in a residence that has no gas and that requires oil to heat the water and the house. The electric immersion heater can provide hot water for hand washing and personal hygiene, however, to get heat into the house the client needs to fill the oil tank. The amount of money requested here represents about two thirds of a tank which will improve our client's warmth.
