£0 remaining for a microwave and a washing machine
We've known K since the age of sixteen when she lived at the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA), due to multiple risk factors. We now support her through our outreach service for women selling sex on the streets. K has had poor mental health and addiction, but is currently clean. She needs a microwave and washing machine to avoid travelling to the day centre on the other side of town, but cannot afford these items, as she is on Universal Credit. K, who engages well with us and other services, is still vulnerable and at risk of exploitation. These gifts will bless her.
N, who lives on her own, is struggling to manage on her Universal Credit payment, particularly as she has debts with her electricity bill. She previously worked as a carer but, due to nerve damage, is unable to work. We are requesting £200 for a cooker. Thank you for your help.
This single mum, who lives in a two bedroom flat with her daughter, is on minimum income. Her electric cooker has come to the end of its life and mum is finding it increasingly difficult to cook. Ready prepared meals are expensive because she only has the use of a microwave. £200 would allow her to purchase a new cooker. Mum is a good cook and enjoys cooking but, without a working cooker, is finding this difficult.
This lady, who is a single mother with one daughter, has moved from Essex to the North East because of the cost of living in the south, and has found a house to rent in our area. Mum is on benefits and is struggling to cope with living cost debts which she is paying periodically. They have not had a cooker since they moved, about a year ago, and mum would like to cook some healthy meals to promote a healthy diet for herself and her growing daughter. Please will you help?
