November Prayer Bulletin

The Lord says, "I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honour them. I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation." Psalm 91:14-16

It's the busiest season of the year, and that certainly is true for us as a charity. As people look at buying Christmas presents and are thinking about visiting family and friends, there continues to be a fear for many who are unable to afford the luxuries of Christmas, as well as heating their homes and putting food on the table.

As always please do continue to pray for those who are making choices every day about whether they can afford the daily essentials and their monthly bills. Please especially pray for those who are unable to heat their homes as the weather turns colder, and that they would reach out to the churches and community spaces that are opening their doors as Warm Welcome spaces this winter.

If you would like more guidance in praying for people in these situations, we were thankful to be asked recently by Jubilee+ to contribute towards their new prayer resource, Stand in the Gap, which is a fantastic resource for individuals and churches to pray about the needs of those in UK poverty. You can see more about this new resource here. If you would like a copy of this booklet sent out to you, please email us at communications@acts435.org.uk.

Firstly this month we are very thankful to God for:

An opportunity to be on a well known television programme, which could give us a lot of coverage as a charity, and enable us to help more people in need. Please pray for the right individual to share their story.

The opportunity we have been given to be highlighted by two high profile individuals, and their projects, in December. Please pray for an overwhelming response from new donors and partner organisations, so that we can see all the needs on our website met quickly during the Christmas season.

An enthusiastic response from local Advocates who would like to help spread the word about our work this December, and the new year. Please pray that we can make the most of their willingness to help in the best way possible

The 508 individuals and families who have been helped in October by Acts 435 Advocates and donors with £69,720 distributed to those who need it most.

Please join us in praying for:

Our autumn gatherings for some of our local partners. This month we're meeting with partners who are also associated with Christians Against Poverty, St Vincent de Paul and the Anglican Church. Please pray for good conversations, and that we can support them in their partnership with us.

Our upcoming Christmas Appeal, which is normally our busiest time of year. Please pray that new and regular donors will be encouraged to give during this time - through our social media outlets, mailings and our partner churches and charities.

The team as we continue to talk about what opportunities we might look to take in 2024 - as a small staff team we want to make sure these are the right ones!

Our local partners who are seeing the increase in need as we approach winter. Please pray for those individuals they are supporting - that they would be able to seek the help they need so that they can afford to both eat and heat their homes this winter.

As always, thank you for your prayers for these individuals, our Advocates and for Acts 435 as we seek to do more for those in need in the UK.

Best wishes,
