£0 remaining for a double bed frame
P was just about managing in Housing Association accommodation when Covid hit. With only his pension and pension credit, he got into rent arrears and was eventually evicted. Having been in temporary accommodation since then has been difficult, but he has now secured permanent accommodation. However, it is completely unfurnished and he must start again. A bed frame would prevent P from having to sleep on the floor, and help him regain some self-esteem and confidence so that he can get back on his feet.
J lived with his wife and children until the relationship broke down. For ten years he sofa-surfed, slept rough and rode night buses. Referred to the rough sleepers team in 2022, he was placed in temporary accommodation and now has permanent housing. Previously a working independent man, J now has a medical condition which has left him unable to work. A washing machine would enable him to maintain his personal hygiene and better manage on his limited income of Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment.
L and her son were recently moved into temporary accommodation with no white goods. Extra expenses for her son's care have made it impossible to buy the essentials they need. Mum would value your help to buy a freezer so that she can decrease her cooking expenses by batch cooking.
I had a lovely chat with this client who was placed in temporary accommodation in early 2022. Her case was overlooked and she was deemed as not a housing need, eventually becoming homeless. In 2024, our client was picked up by Streetlink and placed in St Mungo's for a week. She was then moved to a winter shelter which was not suitable for her medical needs. This lady has finally found suitable housing, but is in need of furniture. She said a double mattress would be really great. Thank you for your support.
